ALBAWABA - Thailand's acting Prime Minister Phumtham Wechayachai will be meeting Cambodia's Prime Minister Hun Manet tomorrow, July 28, in Malaysia to hold peace talks following the deadly border, Bangkok confirmed on Sunday.
The Thai premier's office revealed in a statement that the peace talks would be organized by Malaysian Prime Minister and ASEAN chair Anwar Ibrahim, "with Mr. Hun Manet, Prime Minister of Cambodia, to personally travel for talks".
On July 24, a Thai soldier lost his right leg in a land mine blast that was blamed on Cambodia, igniting a new conflict on the border as the two countries opened fire and used shelling against each other.
Thailand and Cambodia exchanged blame for who started the fire, and Bangkok degraded ties with Cambodia.
